Monitoring strategy

Active video monitoring vs. standard camera recording

Standard recording helps establish what happened. Active video monitoring is designed to help qualified operators evaluate supported events while they are occurring and follow a defined response plan.

Standard camera recording

A conventional system records continuously or when configured events occur. Authorized users can review live or historical video, receive supported notifications, and export evidence, but the property team is generally responsible for interpreting and responding to alerts.

Active video monitoring

Supported analytics can surface an event for operator review. Based on the agreed plan and available information, the operator may dismiss non-threatening activity, use supported audio talk-down, notify contacts, or request an appropriate response.

Choose from the response requirement

Properties with exposed perimeters, yards, lots, equipment, or recurring after-hours activity may benefit from active workflows. Others may need dependable recording and self-notification. The design should match risk, hours, staffing, privacy, budget, and local response conditions.
